Sony today announced a new image sensor meant for smartphones: the IMX318. Sony launched the voice-assistant powered Xperia Ear back in late 2016. Since then, we’ve seen multiple voice assistant guided smart Bluetooth headphones, including Google’s Pixel Buds. Sprint, the third-largest carrier in the US, announced on Monday that it has expanded its 4G LTE network to 70 new cities, bringing its total number of supported cities to 300. With Android 7.0 Nougat now officially rolling out to Nexus devices, manufacturers like Sony can start to plan ahead for which devices will be getting updated to the newest software. Sony has gone ahead and confirmed which handsets within its Xperia lineup will be receiving Android 7.0 Nougat in the future. According to the social media company, Pixy does not require any setup or a controller to operate, rather, it can be activated with a tap of a button found on the device. Users can select how it flies based on four preset flight modes, which can be changed using the device’s camera dial. It can float, orbit, or follow you. The nation’s number three carrier says it will double data plans for both new existing customers, a response to a similar offer from AT&T. On February 4, Samsung confirmed that the Sprint variant of the Galaxy S5 would get Android 5.0 Lollipop beginning on February 5.
