How to Get the Sapphire Dragon Claw in Skyrim
To earn the claw, you will need to complete the “Lifting the Shroud” miscellaneous quest. To start it, you’ll need to head to Ivarstead, and speak with Wilhelm, the owner of Vilemyr Inn.
When you speak with him, he will complain about Shroud Heart Barrow, and tell you of Wyndelius Gatharian, who ventured to the barrow and disappeared.
Follow your quest marker to Shroud Hearth Barrow to be confronted by the ghost of Wyndelius shortly after you enter. Continue until you reach the room with four levers.
To open the door to proceed, flick the two levers nearest to the door (levers #2 and #3). You’re going to want to be very wary of traps in this next room. There are numerous spear and dart traps tied to chests and doors, so just proceed with caution.
Use the chain to open the gate, then continue downstairs to find two doors. Head through the left one and advance onward until you find Wyndelius’ chambers.
If he’s sleeping, great! Sneakily take the journal from the table and leave. If he’s awake, he will attack you, so fend him off and grab the journal when it’s safe to.
Exit the barrow with the journal and return to Wilhelm. By handing Wyndelius’ journal over to Wilhelm, he will happily give you the Sapphire Dragon Claw in exchange. The door that this opens can be found in the other door at the bottom of that staircase in Shroud Hearth Barrow, where you took the left option to find Wyndelius’ chambers.
Just like Skyrim’s Golden Claw puzzle door, simply read off the symbols from the palm of the claw in your inventory, then rotate the door’s rings to match those. Doing this will unlock and open the door, revealing the world wall for you to learn from.
