CD Projekt Red continues to tease gamers with cryptic messages, codes, and Easter eggs for their upcoming sci-fi RPG, Cyberpunk 2077. Today, the company’s Twitch channel is broadcasting a currently incomprehensible stream of code that many gamers on multiple social media channels are guessing is an impending announcement for game.

As of this writing, we don’t know if we’ll be getting a release date or, perhaps, even the private gameplay footage shown behind closed doors at both E3 2018 and last week’s Gamescom. There are a handful of possibilities, including announcements for other games – which would mean this is all just an elaborate ruse and we’ve all been duped into watching a string of gobbledygook for hours on end.

All we know right now is that there’s a bunch of white letters and numbers on a black background – and that some type of “data transmission” is in progress.

Cyberpunk 2077 was first announced in May 2012. The game’s official Twitter account had laid dormant for four years until a “beep” brought it back to life earlier this year. Since then, there has been a veritable flurry of announcements around the game.

Aside from the aforementioned gameplay footage shown at conventions this year, CD Projekt Red also unveiled a brand-new trailer at E3, as well as new screenshots and concept art at Gamescom.

See why one of our writers think’s the game can’t live up to its hype.
