We’re a little less than a month away from CES, the Consumer Electronic Show, the place where one million companies announce one million products in the span of 72 hours. ASUS sent out invitations for their press conference yesterday. Sony has just done the same today. On January 6th, at five in the afternoon, the once giant Japanese gizmo company will take the stage for 45 minutes to unveil a whole heap of new devices.
But will any of them run Android? I’m glad you asked. Rumor has it we’re going to see three mobile products unveiled at the show. The first is a WiFi only version of the Xperia Z Ultra. If it’s priced right, it’ll be incredible. The second is an international version of the DoCoMo Z1F, better known as the Xperia Z1 mini (pictured above, right). It’s a Snapdragon 800 powered 4.3 inch smartphone with a 20 MP camera. And finally third, the Xperia “Serius”. That’s supposed to be Sony’s next flagship phone. Unfortunately, little information about it is out there. Some people say it’ll be slightly larger than the Xperia Z1, possibly with a 5.2 inch display, but other than that, we don’t know anything about the processor, the RAM, nor the camera. Won’t Sony announce their really awesome stuff at MWC? Sony has historically used Mobile World Congress to launch their flagship products, but during the last two years they’ve decided to show off their guns at CES. We’ll just have to wait and see.
