It is both a religious and cultural festival having its root in the Catholic Church. It is a day that commemorates the death and the glorious life of St. Patrick who is the patron Saint of Ireland.

March 17 is a day declared as a public holiday to commemorate the St. Patrick’s feast day in the United States of America as well as in Europe.

Culturally, in America, the celebration of Saint Patrick’s day is celebrated by the display of Shamrocks (which is the emblem of Ireland), leprechauns, and parades where everyone is beautifully dressed up in clothes with touches of green. It’s a day when Americans of Irish decent honor and take pride in their culture by showing off the best and most beautiful aesthetics of their culture. 

Religiously, to commemorate this feast day celebration, Irish Catholics would attend holy mass at their respective parishes and ask for the blessings of their patron Saint on them and their homeland, Ireland. How to Make a DIY St. Patrick Candle from a Flameless Taper Candle?

Making a DIY Saint Patrick’s day candle is as simple as any other DIYs that you would regularly come across.

Procedure.

Thoroughly Clean the mason jar you want to use with a clean cloth and rubbing alcohol and make sure the mason jar is clean after cleaning. Add a moderate amount of green sand into the mason jar. The work of this green sand is to help the flameless taper candle sit in one place. Stick your shamrock sticker to the outside of your mason jar Press your flameless taper candles to see if they work then press it into the center of the mason jar.  There you have it. Your shamrock candle is ready for St. Patrick’s day.

How to Make a Beeswax St. Patrick Candle?

Materials:

Golden foods soy wax. Beeswax white particles. Aloe and white lilac fragrance oil. Candlewicks. Spectrum liquid candle dye color. Pouring pot. Pot for double boilerApothecary Jar.

Procedure: 

Melt some grams of beeswax according to your desire Using the double boiler method and then stir occasionally. Once the beeswax reaches your desired melting point, add a drop of Spectrum Green Candle Dye.   Then, stir to incorporate the color.   Place the shamrock mold in the oven at the lowest temperature.  Next, remove your beeswax from the heat source. Weigh out desired grams of Aloe and White Lilac Fragrance Oil. Add this to the beeswax the Stir continuously. Pour slowly a layer of the beeswax into the cavities of the shamrock. Allow the shamrock to be fully set up and firm as slowly as possible. As soon as the beeswax is hardened remove it carefully from the mold. Insert your wick through the bottom of the jar using a hot glue gun. Place the beeswax shamrock into your jar. When your soy wax is melted, remove it from the heat source then add some grams of aloe and white lilac Fragrance oil and stir continuously. Wait till the temperature of the soy wax drops to 110 Fahrenheit. Then pour the wax into a candle jar. Straighten your wicks and allow the candle to be fully set up. (Nature’s garden, 2022).  

Can St. Patrick’s candles be used on other days that aren’t St. Patrick’s day?

Even though St. Patrick’s candles are cultural aesthetics in Irish families, they are also used by Irish Catholics and people of non-Irish descent as prayer candles invoking the intercession of St. Patrick.
