Problem is, unlocking those heroes and villains isn’t as simple as completing challenges or Battlefront 2’s campaign. Instead, these heroes and villains require that you unlock them by paying a certain amount of credits, which are gained by playing multiplayer matches, completing the game’s campaign, and completing certain challenges.

That seems pretty straightforward for most modern games, but the real hurdle is that Battlefront 2 is extremely stingy with the amount of credits it gives you at any one time. Knowing that, this guide will go over the most efficient ways to get credits in BF2 – and even then, you’ll still have to seriously grind to add those heroes and villains to your playlist catalog.

Battlefront 2’s Unlockable Heroes and Villains

There are three heroes and three villains locked behind BF2’s progression wall at the start of the game:

Chewbacca: 40,000 credits Princess Leia: 40,000 credits Luke Skywalker: 60,000 credits Emperor Palpatine: 40,000 credits Darth Vader: 60,000 credits Iden Versio: 20,000 credits

At those price points, it’s worth saving your credits as you play if you’re looking to unlock them as fast as possible. It may be enticing to buy more loot crates, but some of those cost an arm and a leg, too – and, as we’ll see below, offer very minimal return on investment when it comes to credits.

How to Get Credits in Star Wars Battlefront 2

There are currently five ways to get credits in BF2. Some are easier to complete than others, but some only allow you to reap rewards a single time. Let’s quickly go over them.

Play Battlefront 2’s Campaign

This is probably one of the easiest ways to get credits in BF2’s early game. You’ll get 4,000 credits for beating eight of the campaign’s 12 missions, regardless of the difficulty you choose (four of those missions give you special loot crates, which have the potential  of holding credits, but most likely won’t).

Thing is, you’ll only be able to do this once. Completing the campaign a second time won’t net you any credits – and neither will finding all of Battlefront 2’s collectibles. Those give you crafting parts, not credits.

Open Loot Crates

This is another easy way to get credits in Battlefront 2. By completing challenges and leveling up, you get new loot crates. On top of that, you also get a daily log-in loot crate, so make sure to boot up BF2 at least once a day to nab a free crate.

It’s not always guaranteed that you’ll get credits in loot crates, although I’ve always gotten at least 75 credits each time I’ve opened a daily crate, which makes them vital if you’re grinding to unlock those heroes and villains.

Play Battlefront 2’s Multiplayer

This is where you’re going to spend most of your time grinding credits in BF2. After you complete each match, whether that be Galactic Assault, Heroes and Villains, Starfighter Assault, Strike, or Blast, you’ll be awarded a certain amount of credits for your performance in each match.

This credit sum varies based on kills, objective points captured, and other performance-related metrics, so make sure keep your K/D positive and complete as many objectiveness as you can to increase your overall match score.

Complete Challenges and Milestones

There are tons of challenges and dozens of milestones in Battlefront 2. Some of the milestones revolve around completing campaign missions and finding collectibles (as noted above), but most of them center on the game’s Multiplayer and Arcade modes. In addition to getting credits in those modes, you’ll also find that heroes, villains, and starfighters have their own milestones to unlock for credits, as well as crystals and crafting parts.

In all, you’ll have 215 milestones to complete throughout your time with BF2’s base game, as well as timed challenges, which appear to change every day. Credit amounts will vary for each of these, with some netting you up to 1,000 credits and others only getting you 100 credits.

Play Battlefront 2’s Arcade Mode

BF2’s Arcade Mode is another place you can farm credits. By completing Tiers II and III in this mode, you’ll net about 100 credits each – every time you complete them. Luckily, there are 16 battle scenarios across Light and Dark sides with special modifiers for each Tier, making the grind a bit less grindy.

From its loot crate system to unlocking heroes and villains, Battlefront 2 has a lot of controversy surrounding it. But with this credits farming guide, you’ll have the upper hand when it comes to unlocking the likes of Palpatine, Luke Skywalker, and Iden Versio.
